Robert James Lea was born 10 Mar. 1852 in Princeton, Ark. He acquired his law degree from the University of Virginia. He married Georgia Passmore of Hot Springs, Ark., on 29 Sept. 1882. He lived in Little Rock from 1876 until his death on 11 Oct. 1917, practicing law and serving as circuit court judge from 1890 until his death. He and his wife had one daughter, Wihelmina Lea.
